As announced this summer, Rutherford County Schools has launched two new technology tools that will simplify how parents receive information and how they interact with their teachers and coaches to learn about their student’s academics, school announcements, and extra-curricular activities.
The first one is ParentVue by Synergy, and this will be used to see your student’s academic information, including report cards, daily grades, missing assignments, class schedules, etc. It is similar to Skyward that we used last year, but it is much more mobile and user friendly. The companion is called StudentVue and contain similar information for students.
The second app, and perhaps the most important, is MyRCS. Search for “Rutherford County Schools” in your app store, and download it for free.
The MyRCS app will be used by parents to receive messages and interact with your school, teachers, coaches, or band directors depending on the activities students are involved in. This is the sole communication platform we are using for this type of communication this year. It replaces platforms such as ClassDojo, Remind, Band or any others as parents have asked for a one-stop source for school information.
Once downloaded, you can select which schools your children attend to receive a live feed of news items from those schools. By adjusting your preferences, written messages families receive are translated automatically into your preferred language. You can also interact directly teachers and coaches using a featured called “Rooms,” which is a secure two-way communication tool.
Rooms launches Monday and Parents will receive an email or text message inviting them to join their teacher’s or coach’s Room. If you don’t get the email or text, that’s ok. Beginning Monday evening you can visit the Rooms section of the app, or use the login button on your school’s website.
For your login, all you need to enter is the cell phone number you have on file with your school or your email address. You should then receive an access code, and you will be logged in.
For a quick overview of how the platform works, watch this short video introduction. If you have questions or need assistance, visit our Rooms Resources webpage. Links to download the apps are available here.
Rutherford County Schools is excited to offer these communication tools for parents and students. We want to ensure everyone stays informed about their students and schools. Thanks again for your patience and cooperation as we settle in to a new school year.

Stewarts Creek Elementary is excited to partner with the Smyrna Fire Department for our annual Canned Food Drive, November 4th–11th!
This is a wonderful opportunity for our Cardinal family to come together and show kindness and generosity to those in need. The best part? Every donation stays right here in our community, helping our own neighbors and families!
All donated food will be picked up on November 11th. Let's show how big our Cardinal hearts are by giving back to the community we love!

Daylight saving time ends this Sunday, November 1! SCE families, remember to turn your clocks back one hour before heading to bed Saturday night. Enjoy the extra hour of rest! 🕒

Guest meals are $5 each, payable in the cafeteria on the day of your lunch. Exact cash only; credit and debit cards are not accepted. Current SCE students will pay their usual student lunch price.
Each student may have two guests ages 5 and older. Children ages 4 and under do not count toward the guest limit, but they will need a $5 meal purchased if eating lunch.

Join us October 26–30 as we celebrate making healthy choices and living drug-free! Students and staff are invited to dress up each day using the themes on our flyer.
Red Ribbon Week reminds our Cardinals that their health, dreams, and futures are worth protecting. Together, we can help our children build the confidence to say no to drugs and make choices that keep them safe, healthy, and ready to soar! ❤️🐦

Help us spread some Halloween fun at Stewarts Creek Elementary! We are collecting individually wrapped candy October 19–23 for our Boo Bags!
Please send in unopened, individually wrapped, nut-free candy. Fruity favorites like Skittles, Starburst, Sour Patch Kids, Smarties, Jolly Ranchers, and lollipops work best! Please avoid chocolate and candy with packaging that states it was processed in a facility with nuts or other listed allergens.
We want to be thoughtful of children with allergies, so please, no candy with a label that states it was made in a facility that processes peanuts, nuts, milk products, soy, protein, wheat, eggs or sesame seeds.
🎉 Here's the sweet part! The team that donates the most usable candy to feed their monster will earn extended recess!
Thank you for helping us make this a fun and memorable event for our Cardinals and for spreading a little extra LOVE at the Creek!

Take a night off from cooking and support Stewarts Creek Elementary! Join us for PTO Spirit Night at Champy's Restaurant in Smyrna on Wednesday, October 21st!
